History

In the mid 70's World Timber Corporation was just a dream in the mind of a young Joe Steinbach out measuring lumber and running a band mill in a mid-sized lumberyard in New Jersey. As he began to acquire more knowledge about drying wood and grading lumber that dream started to take on larger proportions. Then, promoted to lumber buyer at the yard, young Joe traveled to many exotic locales.

Office/garage, warehouse, kilns. The lumberyard sits on just 2 acres of our 5-acre site. The rest is for future expansion.
The road to India for East Indian Rosewood, Nigeria for Padauk and Zebrawood, Mexico for Cocobolo
and Bocote, Guatemala for Honduran Rosewood and Mahogany and Brazil for Purpleheart and Lacewood earned him valuable contacts. And his eye for quality goods earned him a reputation as a skilled inspector at the company. So, with key experience in every facet of the lumber business Joe's dream of one-day owning a lumberyard inched closer to reality. He continued to work hard and eventually became the manager of the yard.
